About the Academy
Skillz was established in 2016 as a barbershop with dreams of becoming a barber instructor. We quickly dominated the community with our ability to create sleek styles, sharp lines, and blurry fades.
Our diverse atmosphere and barbershop appearance took us over the top. Skillz has been a blueprint for many other barbers and barbershops in our city — and we want to continue to spread the knowledge.

Our Mission
Our mission is to make sure everyone who enrolls into Skillz Barber Academy is prepared to be successful upon completion. We reach out to shops for job placement and have availability in our own shops for employment if needed.
Our curriculum gets you ready not only to begin your career as a barber, but also shows you the correct way to run a successful business.
We reach out to shops on your behalf and offer placement opportunities — including spots in our own shops when needed.
One Saturday a month we host a personal credit building & repair class, plus business branding and business credit building.

What You Get
Multiple models & color ways to choose from
Our kits are very detailed and contain everything you need to pursue the profession. Most items are picked by the administration and are mandatory.
We're proud to be partnered with TPOB — students choose which trimmers, shavers, and adjustable clippers they want, with multiple models and color ways to choose from.
